Crazy Eights: what to know before playing
Check the rule below as you play. Empty your hand by matching the active suit or the top card’s rank. Eights let you choose the next suit. Keep the goal in mind before your next move. Each player starts with five cards from a standard 52-card deck. The starting discard is not an eight.
Two-player free play with a local computer opponent. No draw-two stacking or reverse cards. A refreshed page starts a new round.
A focus for your next round
Read the position before choosing your next action. After an eight, match the called suit or play another eight. The eight’s printed suit is not the active suit. Start a new round when you are ready to try again.
The objective of a round
Check the rule below as you play. Empty your hand by matching the active suit or the top card’s rank. Eights let you choose the next suit.
A walkthrough of the rules
- Each player starts with five cards from a standard 52-card deck. The starting discard is not an eight.
- Play one matching card. An eight is always playable; choose its suit using the suit selector before tapping the card.
- After an eight, match the called suit or play another eight. The eight’s printed suit is not the active suit.
- Draw one card at a time when needed. Drawing does not end your turn; keep drawing or play a legal card.
- The stock is not recycled. With no stock and no legal card, pass. Two consecutive passes end the round in a draw.
- The first empty hand wins. New round deals again.
